Does P90X Work?

Does P90X Work? That is one of the most annoying questions that I see consistently online.
The question isn't if the program works, it's really... are you willing to make a commitment to work out for 90 days and follow the P90X diet plan. If you or anyone else is willing to "pay the price" then getting results is just basic math.

What do I mean by "basic math?" Gaining muscle size and losing body fat is a matter of exercising correctly and following a low-calorie diet. Many people will tell you that you cannot lose weight and build muscle size at the same time.

However, that is both true and not true.

Many people will lose weight while they are trying to build muscle size by merely eliminating the junk food from their diet. For example, if you eat a lot of cookies, drink a lot of beer, eat a lot of sugary fruits, and eat bread or pasta -- then by merely eliminating these food items you will begin to lose weight.
All you need to do is substitute them with healthier food choices.

Such as, whole wheat pasta, oatmeal, light beer (gotta have a beer every now and then:-) 90% lean ground beef, fish, vegetables, baked potatoes, sweet potatoes and many others.

In reality, you'll have more than enough food and "eating clean" will actually help you to get leaner and ripped.
So, what does P90X work out plan do for you?

Most of the information about the P 90X work out routine can be found on the Internet, for free. I don't mean the exact routine but the muscle building information. What the P90 X exercise routine does for you is it provides you with all the work out/nutritional information you need. And the motivation that comes from Tony Horton guiding you through each and every one of the workouts.

Look, let's face it the reason you haven't achieved your fitness goals in the past is NOT because you didn't have the "perfect workout" or the ideal diet plan. It's because for whatever the reason, you lacked the motivation to follow through. Tony Horton, the creator of P90X, does an excellent job -- even though his jokes are corny at times -- at keeping you enthusiastic and motivated during the workout.

Some people have said that Tony is "addicting." Even on the days that they don't have to workout, some people have said they still watch the DVD. However, don't get me wrong the P90X is not. And I repeat not an EASY workout regiment.

You'll be working out six days per week and these are difficult workouts to say the least. In fact, before you purchase this system you should take their fitness test.

If you're a man, you should be able to do at least 15 push-ups, touch your toes or be within 6 inches of them, be able to do pull ups and other various exercises. If not, then you should consider getting the P90 and doing that work out for 90 days.

Or, begin a body weight exercise routine at home. Do some simple push-ups and get yourself a pull up bar. Then you can include doing pull-ups as part of this workout routine. Another way to go might be too purchase a good quality set of resistance bands and start working out with them. You'll need to pull up bar and the resistance bands once you get started on the workout.

Once you're ready (and you'll be able to determine that by taking the P 90X fitness test) then go ahead and start the P90 extreme fitness workout.

So, the question really should be WHY does P90X work?

The motivation that Tony Horton provides in the video is one of the major reasons why the P90 X program is so successful. As they claim, all you need to do is put the DVD into the player and push play.
The entire training system is really a no-brainer. If you can follow their step-by-step exercise plan and simple diet menus you will achieve results. Just like you would with any other workout or nutritional system. There is no magic behind the power 90 extreme workout program!

So, does P90X work?

Well, it's not revolutionary, it's not breakthrough, but it IS an easy to follow, simple as 1-2-3 workout and diet plan. I hope that in this article I have been able to explain to you why does P90X work.

Unless you have been living in a deep cave, you have undoubtedly seen the infomercials touting the Power 90X workout system. It's the ninety day plan that claims it will get you into the best shape of your life. I've been through the program. I know what it can do for you. Below are my experiences and feelings about the course.

First of all, you need to be in pretty good shape to even begin this advanced workout plan. Most of the workouts last somewhere around and hour so be prepared. That said, the workouts are fun and the instructor, Tony Horton, keeps you motivated.

Power 90X is not just a workout plan but an overall health plan. By that I mean you also get instruction in nutrition and other aspects of taking care of your body. The way the plan works is by basically changing up your workout routines every so often so that your muscles can never get used to the way you are exercising them. This keep you from reaching a plateau in your development. Your muscles are always having to work hard to get through the current exercises.

There are twelve different sessions included in the series. Some concentrated on specific areas like the chest or back. Others like the yoga session or stretching give you an overall workout. Tony keeps you going even on those days when you are dragging.

I enjoyed going through the ninety days. I plan on going through it again. If you are committed to this plan, it will give you good results and get you into the best shape you have been in in years.

The P90X or the Power 90X workout schedule is the 90 day or 13 week training program that has proved to be very effective and the program comes with 11 DVD pack along with an Ab Ripper X that promises to deliver your dream body if you seriously follow the routine. The training program has dedicated workout schedules for all part of the body like the P90X shoulders and arms and it gives you the scope to work out the specific problem areas of the body to give you the dream result. P90X - Get Motivated and Get Results With This Amazing Home Fitness Program


With so many accessories and equipments coming into play, it is hard to choose the right ones for you home-workout plan. Sometimes, one might get an expensive piece of equipment and might not use it more than once or twice and on the contrary, sometimes one might lose out on an important piece of equipment and end up injuring himself or herself because of faulty equipment. Two of the most confusing pieces of equipment while going in for any workout plan, especially the P90X, are dumbbells and resistance bands. People often get confused as to which mode of tension is better for the power 90 workout plan and end up getting caught up in a tangled web of choices. The P90X routines rely on using one's own body as a resistance most of the times, but there are some routines wherein the instructors in the P90X workout videos are seen using either resistance bands or dumbbells to introduce additional external resistance. The choice largely depends on the "feel-good" factor and boils down to which of the two alternatives make them feel better.

The resistance bands are less space occupying, would require you to maintain proper balance while working out and you can achieve a whole range of resistance levels by narrowing or loosening the loop around your legs. One main difference in which resistance bands and dumbbells work is that resistance bands offer more workout to the helper muscles around the main muscle that you intend to work out. This happens because resistance bands require a more refined movement of the muscles and needs you to maintain perfect posture, while in the case of dumbbells, it is only up to you to check you posture and form. Consequently, if you want to focus on a single muscle group, and don't want to dilute your workout efforts, then dumbbells are what you should go in for. If you are underweight and your body is not as toned as you would want it to be, dumbbells might prove to be a much better option than resistance bands, as dumbbells tend to bulk up at the right places. You movement is free in the case of dumbbells and you are not restricted to try out only some fixed body angles and grips. Therefore, if you know hoe to experiment, dumbbells are the way to go.

You've seen the TV commercials, you know people who have purchased the products, you have researched them on internet, but you are still not sure what they are all called and how they differ. Power 90, P90X, PX90, Power 90X are not the same workout and some of the names are not even real.

There are actually four programs in the Power 90 series and they are Power 90, Power 90 Masters, P90X, and P90X Plus...Power 90, the first program in this series, is an "in-home boot camp." It is a series of fun, easy-to-follow workouts designed to help people lose fat and inches while strengthening and toning muscles. The workouts rotate between a cardio routine and a full body resistance circuit training routine.

This is a 90-day program. Workouts are scheduled six days a week, about 40-60 minutes a day.

P90X was originally titled Power 90X before having its name shortened to P90X. P90X was developed to take Power 90 to the next level and was initially introduced in 2004, but was not widely accepted. It was later repositioned and in 2007 began gaining in popularity.

It is not considered an entry level fitness program and is better suited for people already in decent shape. There are 12 workout routines consisting of weight training, core training, yoga, plyometrics (also known as athletic jump training), kenpo karate, and stretching. This is a 90 day program. Workouts are scheduled six days a week, about an hour a day.

Power 90 Masters Series was introduced in 2005 after the original introduction of P90X. Power 90 Master Series was developed to be an intermediate level program or warm up for P90X. This series brings in a greater variety of workouts than the original Power 90, and rotates between cardio, plyometrics, interval, core and full body resistance circuit training. This is a 90-day program. Workouts are scheduled six days a week, about 50 minutes a day.

If you completed P90X and want to know what's next, the answer is the P90X Plus Series. This program incorporates some brand new moves and concentrates on muscle endurance. This is a supplemental program to be used in conjunction with P90X. There are five videos in this series and they are each about 45 minutes long.

The P90X Nutrition Plan  

A sensation amongst health and physical fitness buffs all over the world, the P90X had been taking  the exercise world by  storm and has not abated as yet.

Marketed as a weight-loss and body sculpting system developed by  Tony Horton, the program took off because of its novel  but effective approach to exercise.  The principle idea is to keep your different muscle groups doing as many different  things as possible and create what is  called “muscle confusion”. Achieving “muscle confusion” enables your body to avoid the “plateau effect”, a common  "flaw" in many physical fitness  plans. Basically this is the state where any progress achieved in the early part of the  regime levels out with further  advances becoming more and more difficult to achieve.

P90X - An Overview

P90X - What's It All About?


Power 90X is a weight loss, fitness and body sculpting system created by Beach Body, a company that offers other weight reduction and fitness programs like Hip Hop Abs and Turbo Jam. Power 90X or P90X as it has come to be known is a workout and general fitness system that claims to be able to transform your body “regular to ripped in just 90 days.”

It consists of 12 workout routines on DVDs, a 3-phase nutrition plan, unique supplement options, a fitness guide, a progress calendar and online support. The developer, Tony Horton, is the “personal trainer” for this specific weight-loss program.

Power 90X is offered through their official website for three monthly installments of $39.95. There is also a 100% 90-day satisfaction guarantee that comes with the package. There are also more advanced and detailed versions of the basic course costing up to $339.

Muscle Confusion

The program’s effectiveness, and success for so many people, is hinged on what is Tony calls “muscle confusion”. This means that numerous and various different exercises are incorporated (and encouraged) to keep the different muscle groups doing as many different things as often as possible.

Because of the number of exercises incorporated, Power 90X actually confuses your muscles. The effect of this is that the body becomes stronger, slimmer and more physically fit without the use of any pills or potions.

The reason for this is because the “plateau effect” is avoided. Your muscles do not get used to certain repetitive routines and so they continue to develop. You'll need to allocate at least an hour each day to your Power 90X regime though.

Workout Programs

The different muscles groups that are being worked out are also lend their names to the respectiveparts of the Power 90X workout system.
